We extend our heartfelt thanks to Doug Brennan, who has stepped down as treasurer after years of dedicated service. We welcome <strong>Oliver Sweetman<\/strong> as our newly elected treasurer, and <strong>Martin Parsons<\/strong> as a general committee member. Here is your 2024 committee lineup:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>President:<\/strong> Delia West<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Secretary:<\/strong> Paul Shipton<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Treasurer:<\/strong> Oliver Sweetman<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Head Coach:<\/strong> Nicky Donaldson<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Media Lead:<\/strong> Matt Ramke-Meyer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>General Committee Members:<\/strong> Deb Wright, Justin Wright, Tim Kreis, and our newest addition, Martin Parsons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A special thanks to <strong>Lachlan Kent<\/strong> for his valuable advice and support over the past five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One important outcome of the AGM is that <strong>committee minutes will now be made available on the club website<\/strong> to increase transparency and keep members informed. This will start with the next committee meeting in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just as a by word, Martin is the project manager for our new shed and fence. He\u2019s progressing this well and we can expect to see the fence go up soon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Strategic Planning Grant<\/strong><br>We are thrilled to announce our successful grant application with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council. This funding will support strategic planning to create a roadmap for future committees, helping to streamline club operations and focus on both administrative and operational tasks separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Club Christmas Breakfast Celebration<\/strong><br>Mark your calendars! Join us for a <strong>Christmas breakfast on Saturday, 21 December<\/strong>, after the morning paddle session. We\u2019d love to hear your food ideas and preferences so we can plan a delicious spread. Looking forward to celebrating with everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Race Updates<\/strong><br>Our club was well represented at the <strong>Schools and State Marathon Championships<\/strong> held on 18\u201319 October. Congratulations to all participants!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several club members also tackled the <strong>Clarence 100<\/strong> in October\u2014a challenging three-day race from Copmanhurst to Yamba. And at the <strong>Pan Pacific Masters Games<\/strong> on the Gold Coast, club members are in the midst of securing medals.
