Maroochy River Paddle<\/strong>: Entries for the Maroochy River Paddle on 18 August, 2024 are open in Webscorer.\u00a0 As always the assistance of volunteers is critical to the success and safety of this event.\u00a0 Please let us know if you can help in any way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July Time Trial<\/strong>: This month\u2019s time trial will be on 20 July at 7am. A high tide of 1.3m is expected in Eudlo Creek at around 8am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xmas in July<\/strong>: I hope your creativity is running high for our fun get together on 20 July from 5pm. Bring some food to share and you your drinks. Sit around the fire and be entertained! You can always send an item by email, voice mail or transcript if you are away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power Outage<\/strong>: Energex have advised there will be a power outage at the club house on Friday 19 July from 8am to 3:30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coaching Clinic<\/strong>: thanks to Sharlene and Nicky for running our coaching clinic on 22 June. It was well attended and participants obtained useful information and shared strategies for ensuring club coaches are all \u2018on the same page\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials Course<\/strong>: just a reminder that Sue O\u2019Rourke from Victoria is running some online PA Marathon Officials Workshops (3 x 2 hour online sessions) on Monday evenings during July early August. Please contact Sue if you are interested 0418 34 138. The full process for accreditation is detailed on the PA website: https:\/\/paddle.org.au\/education\/officiating-handbook\/<\/a> under the Marathon tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marathon Training Camp<\/strong>: Don\u2019t forget to let Brett Greenwood  (0414 666 484) know if you are intending to participate in the marathon training camp to be held on at Tallebudgera Creek, Palm Beach QLD.  From 27th July to August the 4th. (Ocean Beaches Ski race is on the 3rd ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upcoming Races<\/strong>: It\u2019s marathon season! Starting with the Tweed 30 on July 21;\u2013 which good practise for the Maroochy River Paddle on August 18; followed by the Clarence 100 over October 11, 12, 13; Paddle Queensland marathon championships are scheduled for October 19 & 20; Hawkesbury Canoe Classic starting October 26 overnight to October 27; and then finish with the Massive Murray Marathon November 18 to 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m sure we will all be watching the Olympics and cheering on our talented athletes, in particular our club members Ally Bull, Alyce Wood and Alexandra Clarke.  Wishing them all the best for successful racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
