{"id":2829,"date":"2023-07-28T13:11:17","date_gmt":"2023-07-28T03:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sunshinecoastpaddlesportsclub.com.au\/sckc\/?p=2829"},"modified":"2023-07-28T13:11:17","modified_gmt":"2023-07-28T03:11:17","slug":"july-2023-newsletter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sunshinecoastpaddlesportsclub.com.au\/sckc\/2023\/07\/28\/july-2023-newsletter\/","title":{"rendered":"July 2023 Newsletter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the last three months, several club members, including myself, had the opportunity to travel overseas. &nbsp;I would like to extend gratitude to the committee for looking after the club affairs during this time. &nbsp;A special thank you goes out to the following individuals who took care of various responsibilities in my absence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Annette Dawson for handling the mail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Joe Ballantyne for his work on the Maroochy River Paddle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Paul Shipton for managing the Saturday learners&#8217; sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As much as it was lovely to be away and catch up with family, the Sunshine Coast is a fantastic place to to come home to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Congratulations and Recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We extend our congratulations to Joe Wills and Bill McGuinn for being selected for the Paddle Queensland Pathways program. Well done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Paddle Queensland Safety Sessions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next Paddle Queensland is session being held at our club will be on 12 August. &nbsp;This is a Volunteers Workshop and may be of interest to club members who volunteer at state and national events and or the upcoming Maroochy River Paddle. &nbsp;Don&#8217;t miss this valuable opportunity to enhance your knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maroochy River Paddle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sunshinecoastpaddlesportsclub.com.au\/sckc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"764\" height=\"236\" data-id=\"2830\" src=\"https:\/\/sunshinecoastpaddlesportsclub.com.au\/sckc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2830\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sunshinecoastpaddlesportsclub.com.au\/sckc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image.png 764w, https:\/\/sunshinecoastpaddlesportsclub.com.au\/sckc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-300x93.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 764px) 100vw, 764px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our annual club race is scheduled for Sunday 27 August starting from Dunethin Rock and finishing in Eudlo Creek. &nbsp;All permits and bookings are in place and the entries are open via Webscorer. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To make this event a success, we need volunteers to assist with various tasks, including registration, safety boats, photography, parking management, craft scrutiny, start and finish line coordination. Please let us know if you can spare a few hours to help set up in the morning or assist with tasks throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"isPasted\">Unfortunately, we have lost a few major sponsors recently.
