I am writing this last 2022 newsletter from our creek side campsite at Pemberton, Western Australia. I feel grateful for the safe travelling and beautiful country we live in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am also grateful for all the help the committee and club members have put in during the year to keep the club running so well in my absence. Just goes to show no-one is indispensable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am very thankful for the help from Jada, Neiva and Jake in continuing taking the U12 and U10 over the last three weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club is very lucky to have coaches that continue to help us achieve our best on the water. This includes Jason, Nicky, Todd and Sharlene. The come and try and learn to paddle programs continue to provide opportunities for community members to try paddling. These programs bring new members which is vital to maintain membership around 90; as there is a certain amount of natural attrition each year due to injury, illness, change of employment etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope that you can all come to our Christmas party at 5pm on 10 December at the club house to celebrate Christmas and the year that\u2019s been. BYO drinks and some food to share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are happy that our new licence (lease) with Council has been finalised before the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023 a number of club members have \u2018zero\u2019 birthdays. One of them is Fred O\u2019Neill – a founding member and life member – is turning 90! The club will host a \u2018zero\u2019 party for several members in February so stay tuned for what promises to be a great shindig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What a wealth of knowledge and experience we have in club members. The Christmas party is the perfect opportunity to get to know members outside your usual paddling group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although there may be no such thing as \u2018good luck\u2019, good preparation puts you in a position to take advantage of the opportunities as they arise. Whatever your hopes and aspirations are for 2023, the committee and I wish you good luck and a merry Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
