Maroochy River Paddle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well done to all volunteers and participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was a success raising funds approximately $4,000 for the club and $2,000 for the major benefactor, the Hear & Say Foundation.  The day was dry and clear with winds picking up to 10-15knots around 10am when the majority of paddlers were within 5km of the finish.  This last section of the race also has the most river traffic.  The race is run on an outgoing tide and the Maroochy River is currently heavily silted which added to the difficulty in finishing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feedback from participants was that they enjoyed the event and liked that there were members of the wider paddling community participating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buck Rogers from Mooloolaba Paddlers has shared his drone footage on facebook and Matt will be putting up photos over the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upcoming Races<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Old Woman Ocean Ski Race is being held on Saturday 3 September from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. To register go to www.registernow.com.au<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pacific Coast Marathon Series \u2013 Race 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be held on September 25 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at Currumbin Creek Paddlers Club Davall St, Currumbin Waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myall Classic<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This race is held on the Myall Lakes, NSW.  Early bird entries close 5 September and you can obtain further info at myallclassic.com.au  Distances offered are 12km, 27km and 47km, the longer course being a perfect shakedown for the Clarence 100<\/a> and longer marathon paddle races such as the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic<\/a> held in late October and the Murray in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarence 100<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Clarence 100 is a three-day, 3 stage marathon river paddle totalling a distance of 106km.  From 7\u20119 October2022 at Grafton, NSW.  For more details go to the website clarence100.com.au<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawkesbury Canoe Classic<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hawkesbury Classic Paddle is a 111km, overnight, paddle from Windsor to Mooney Mooney on Sydney’s majestic Hawkesbury River.  Club members who have completed this race include Annette Dawson and Doug Brennan.  Further information can be obtained from www.canoeclassic.net<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massive Murray Paddle<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This five day, 415km race starts at Yarrawonga and finishes at Koondrook.  Our club has several winning teams over the years as evidenced by the blue race numbers in the club house.  Some of our members participate as individuals who paddle the entire distance.  The website is www.mmp415.racing<\/a> for entry information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choice Hotels Code<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club has registered with the Choice Sports program. Bookings using the Choice Sports ID will give us a potential saving of 15% at all Choice properties across Australia and New Zealand.  Every time a stay is made with your club\u2019s unique booking code, Choice Hotels will make a 7% rebate back to our club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our club\u2019s ID number, 00574590<\/u><\/strong>, must be quoted to receive a discount and for us to be able to pay the rebate.  This will also allow Choice Hotels to accurately track and provide reports on all Sunshine Coast Paddlesports reservations.  Bookings made directly to a Choice Hotels property will not guarantee access to our discount and they won\u2019t be able to pay the rebate to the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
