{"id":2632,"date":"2022-03-29T13:32:27","date_gmt":"2022-03-29T03:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sunshinecoastpaddlesportsclub.com.au\/?p=2632"},"modified":"2022-03-29T13:32:28","modified_gmt":"2022-03-29T03:32:28","slug":"march-2022-newsletter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sunshinecoastpaddlesportsclub.com.au\/sckc\/2022\/03\/29\/march-2022-newsletter\/","title":{"rendered":"March 2022 Newsletter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ssl.gstatic.com\/ui\/v1\/icons\/mail\/profile_mask2.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hello Everyone, I hope you&#8217;re staying safe in all this wet weather.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Floods<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the first time ever, the committee had to enact our flood plan on 28 February. &nbsp;The final water level was to our western fence. &nbsp;Luckily it subsided with the tide and the threat diminished.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Races<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Racing paddlers have been on a roller coaster with preparing for the Queensland sprint titles on 4 &amp; 5 February only to have them reschuled to 5 &amp; 6&nbsp;March. &nbsp;However, racing on this weekend was also cancelled due to weather. &nbsp; Additionally, the Queensland marathon championships scheduled for 12 &amp; 13&nbsp;March&nbsp;were put on hold. &nbsp;Thanks to Jason, Todd, Kara, Deb, Sheryn, Annette and Delia some sprint races were held at Lake Kawana on 6&nbsp;March&nbsp;2022. &nbsp; Additionally, with an idea from Matt, we held a 10km time trial. &nbsp;This has allowed paddlers to burn off some steam in a competitive but friendly way over both sprint and distance races. &nbsp;Timings from the sprints have been critical for talent identified paddlers based at our club.
