Pacific\nCoast Paddle Series 10km Dunethin Rock & Roll<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 9 August\nwe hosted the Dunethin Rock & Roll. It was held on the same date as the cancelled\nMaroochy River Paddle, but revamped due to COVID-19 and fitting in with the\nreturn to non-virtual racing for the Pacific Coast Paddle Series. This is the first of three races organised by\nPaddle Queensland. The next race is in\nBrisbane and the third and last race is at Currumbin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can\nstill nominate times via the website even if you do or do not participate in\nthe three races. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Race\ndivisions are based on your best time for 10km. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The full\nrace report is attached for your reference but I take this opportunity to thank\nall the volunteers and prize sponsors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Boat\nRacks<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The club has been successful with a grant from the Queensland Government for $17,500 to replace the rusted boat racks the club house.\u00a0 Masterz Fabrications at Kunda Park will be replacing the old rusty racks with welded aluminium racks.\u00a0 This process will take place over the coming months.\u00a0 It will involve the removal of boats by volunteers, the application of padding (probably carpet) on the new racks; and then replacement of boats.\u00a0 All care will be taken to ensure boats are not damaged.\u00a0 However, you may wish to store your boats at home during this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Club\nHouse Security<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently, I\nhave attended the club house at various times to find the doors and gate open,\nwith no one in attendance. Bags, boats\nand personal belongings are left open to theft and damage. Please take responsibility for ensuring the\nclub house is shut and the gate locked when you go out for a paddle. Don\u2019t\u2019 assume someone else will close it\nafter you. Do it yourself and take your\nkey with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Club\nTee-shirts and Hoodies<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of our\nnew members Jenaya Massie has taken on the task of sourcing some club\ngear. An email with order forms and\nprices will be circulated separately. \nThis is an on-line pop up store which means orders and payments are sent\ndirectly to the supplier. It will only\nbe open for 14 days, so when circulated please ensure you act promptly to take\nadvantage of this offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
AGM<\/p>\n\n\n\n
