See our\nfacebook page for photos.&nbsp; Have you been\ngetting out on the water?&nbsp; Winter weather\noften provides still, albeit cold, paddling conditions.&nbsp; So get out there and enjoy our beautiful\nwater ways!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fantastic news is that\nas of 12pm today we can travel anywhere in Queensland and stay overnight. &nbsp;However, we must still:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>wash our hands\n     regularly with soap and water, and use alcohol-based sanitiser<\/li><li>avoid hugs, kisses\n     and handshakes<\/li><li>wherever possible\n     keep at least 1.5 metres away, two big steps, from people you don\u2019t live\n     with.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will be recommencing the Petrie Creek time trail held on the first\nSunday of each month starting 7&nbsp;June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is our intention to finish the come and try program that was halted\nin March.&nbsp; Relevant individuals will be\ncontacted separately by 12 June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More good news is that we were successful with our grant application to\npaint the club house.&nbsp; Work has commenced\nand if the rain holds off will be finished within the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three grant applications have been submitted to cover the loss of\nincome from race cancellations that occurred due to COVID-19. &nbsp;If successful, our essential operational costs\nand maintenance will be covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Maroochy SLSC has approached us about junior paddling.&nbsp; This program is specifically aimed at U12s\nbut will benefit all junior paddlers in our club.&nbsp; As part of this project, Paddle Queensland is\nproviding 10 learner craft.&nbsp; Thanks to\nMatt Ramke-Meyer who has volunteered to collect the boats from Varsity Lakes\nwhere Paddle Queensland headquarters is now located. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matt has also been busy with our facebook page not only loading pics\nfrom our early morning training, but providing us with information from around\nthe world on races, paddle craft, technique and training. &nbsp;Check it out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second month of the virtual paddle series is upon us.&nbsp;
