Come And Try

Come and Try is a great way to be introduced to paddling in a safe and supportive environment with qualified coaches. These sessions are open to both adults and children and are held on selected dates throughout the year at our clubhouse on Fishermans Road, Maroochydore.

Sessions run on consecutive Saturdays, starting at 7:30am, and go for approximately 60–90 minutes.

The club provides boats and paddles. Please bring:

  • A hat
  • Water
  • Suitable clothing (you will get wet!)
  • A Towel

A t-shirt and shorts with swimmers underneath work well.

You need to be able to swim 50m confidently to ensure your safety.

Each session costs $15 per person.

How It Works

Session 1 – Try It Out
The first on-water session gives you a chance to experience paddling and decide if you’d like to continue. Please bring $15 cash in an envelope with your name on it, as we do not have electronic payment facilities available on site.

Sessions 2–4 – Build Your Skills
If you choose to continue, there are three additional sessions designed to help you develop foundational skills and understand the basics of training and technique. Payment can be made in advance via direct bank transfer to the club, or paid on the day.

What Happens Next?

If you’d like to continue beyond the Come and Try program, you’ll need to become a club member. This is for insurance purposes and the fees for this are available here.

From there, we’ll guide you into the next stage of coaching. This may involve joining an existing training group or receiving additional individual support, depending on what’s most suitable for you.

Throughout the process, we’ll also provide advice on equipment and help you understand what you’ll need to continue paddling confidently.

We look forward to welcoming you on the water!
