Dear Club Members
As we step into March, it’s an exciting time for our club with approximately 13 juniors and a couple of seniors participating the Paddle Australia Sprint Championships to be held at Penrith. We send our best wishes to all those representing our club and state in this Olympic year selection event. Your hard work and dedication are truly commendable. Let’s show our strength and sportsmanship on the water!
HiJinks on Eudlo
Following the excitement of the Tingalpa Trot, we’re gearing up for the next race in the Pacific Coast Marathon Series – HiJinks on Eudlo. This race offers participants a chance to earn points for themselves and the club. With multiple distances to choose from (5, 10, or 15km), it promises to be a fun-filled event. Remember, entries close on Friday night, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to join in the fun. Tingalpa Trot Recap
Congratulations to our club members who showcased their skills at the Tingalpa Trot, the first race of the Pacific Coast Marathon Series. Special mention to Matt Ramke-Meyer, Jake Rienits, and Jake Hudson for securing the top three spots. Despite a few mishaps, (Justin lost his rudder, Scott & Bryn capsized) it was a day filled with camaraderie and sportsmanship. Well done to Mike Jacobson for participating in this tricky course on his first race.
Roster and New Mower
We’re reaching out to our members to lend a hand with club maintenance. The roster on the cupboard above the stove in the club house needs more volunteers. It only takes a short amount of time to contribute. Your assistance in keeping our club clean and functional is greatly appreciated. Additionally, we’re thrilled to announce the purchase of a new self-propelled mower to ease the burden on members. Thank you to those who have already pitched in to help.
Security Update
It’s disheartening to report a recent break-in attempt at our club compound. While we were fortunate to recover the dinghy and trailer, it serves as a reminder for us all to remain vigilant about security. We’re taking steps to enhance our security measures, including the installation of external cameras. Together, we can safeguard our club and its assets. Thanks to Rodney Crerar Fences (0419 665 472) for the prompt fixing at the right price.
Changes to Club Constitution
We’re pleased to inform you that the updates to our club constitution have been approved by the Office of Fair Trading. This reflects our commitment to adapt to modern electronic systems for memberships, payments, and record-keeping. A big thank you to John Smallwood and Delia West for their efforts in this endeavor.
