Maroochy River Paddle
Well done to all volunteers and participants.
The event was a success raising funds approximately $4,000 for the club and $2,000 for the major benefactor, the Hear & Say Foundation. The day was dry and clear with winds picking up to 10-15knots around 10am when the majority of paddlers were within 5km of the finish. This last section of the race also has the most river traffic. The race is run on an outgoing tide and the Maroochy River is currently heavily silted which added to the difficulty in finishing.
Feedback from participants was that they enjoyed the event and liked that there were members of the wider paddling community participating.
Buck Rogers from Mooloolaba Paddlers has shared his drone footage on facebook and Matt will be putting up photos over the coming months.
Tee-shirts are available to purchase if desired.
