Lost Items: Pink USB Charger & Garmin Watch Charger
If you have accidentally taken these items from the club kitchen, please return them as soon as possible, as they are essential training tools for Alex.
AGM Outcomes
Our AGM was held on Saturday, 2 November. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Doug Brennan, who has stepped down as treasurer after years of dedicated service. We welcome Oliver Sweetman as our newly elected treasurer, and Martin Parsons as a general committee member. Here is your 2024 committee lineup:
- President: Delia West
- Secretary: Paul Shipton
- Treasurer: Oliver Sweetman
- Head Coach: Nicky Donaldson
- Media Lead: Matt Ramke-Meyer
- General Committee Members: Deb Wright, Justin Wright, Tim Kreis, and our newest addition, Martin Parsons.
A special thanks to Lachlan Kent for his valuable advice and support over the past five years.
One important outcome of the AGM is that committee minutes will now be made available on the club website to increase transparency and keep members informed. This will start with the next committee meeting in November.
Just as a by word, Martin is the project manager for our new shed and fence. He’s progressing this well and we can expect to see the fence go up soon!
Strategic Planning Grant
We are thrilled to announce our successful grant application with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council. This funding will support strategic planning to create a roadmap for future committees, helping to streamline club operations and focus on both administrative and operational tasks separately.
Club Christmas Breakfast Celebration
Mark your calendars! Join us for a Christmas breakfast on Saturday, 21 December, after the morning paddle session. We’d love to hear your food ideas and preferences so we can plan a delicious spread. Looking forward to celebrating with everyone!
Race Updates
Our club was well represented at the Schools and State Marathon Championships held on 18–19 October. Congratulations to all participants!
Several club members also tackled the Clarence 100 in October—a challenging three-day race from Copmanhurst to Yamba. And at the Pan Pacific Masters Games on the Gold Coast, club members are in the midst of securing medals. We’re proud of everyone’s efforts and dedication!
